DASA 2021 latest changes and updates

DASA  2021 plan offers Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin/Non-Resident Indians/Overseas Citizen of India to take admission in premier Indian establishments in design/designing and arranging programs. Driving organizations are the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), the National Institute of Technologies (NITs), the School of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), and other Premier Indian Technical Institutions. 

As per the public notice given by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the selection process for admission of students under DASA will be done through JEE (Main) which will be applicable from the year 2021-22 onwards.    

Important Changes for DASA 2021 are : 

Some important changes in the admission process were as per NTA, admission for DASA 2021 and CIWG will no longer be based on SAT Test scores. From the academic year 2021-2022, admission will be done on the basis of the applicant's rank obtained in JEE(Main). Scores achieved in JEE Main examination will be considered for admission under the DASA scheme. National Testing Agency (NTA) will prepare the merit list for admission under DASA 2021.   

Eligibility for DASA 2021 : 

It is important to notice that the prior eligibility condition of 60% aggregate marks or 6.50 CGPA in the qualifying examination from the academic eligibility criteria under the DASA Scheme, for the academic year 2020-2021, has now been removed. It is required that the applicant should have a minimum valid score of 1800 in SAT Subject Tests.

The subject which includes Mathematics Level 2, Physics and chemistry. For getting admission to architecture courses, applicants must mandatorily have passed 10+2 scheme examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics OR passed 10+3 diploma examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.  

Residential Eligibility for DASA 2021 : 

To be eligible for DASA 2021, the applicant must have at least need to study in any of the foreign countries for two years. All foreign nationals studying in any country including India or Indian studying abroad need to complete the DASA eligibility criteria. For Indian nationals, it is prescribed that at least 2 years of education in a foreign country during the last 8 years.
