Blended learning (online v/s offline)

Learning can be described in various ways using different channels including classroom instructions, video learning, online courses, assignments, online classes, and many more. There is a huge difference between distance learning and traditional learning, blended learning can be described as a mixture of both distance and classroom learning. This can also be described as a combination of online and offline learning activities. 

A significant feature of blended learning is that the use of computers, the internet, and other gadgets it cute the barrier of geographical locations. Learners have the ability to access it from anywhere with the availability of the internet, content used for online learning is also known as e-content which is usually very interactive and effective.  

Very often blended learning can also be used for corporate training. Many big companies hire trainers who can teach students in the traditional manner with online tools. In the case of online learning, study material can be described as e-books, which are uploaded on the portals where employees can access it from any place and study that. Blended learning proved very effective and organizations invest a good amount in it.  

In the case of online learning classes, institutes used the Learning Management System (LMS)  where all the study material uploaded and will be accessible to all the students from any part of the globe. Along with this lectures can be held with the virtual classroom technology using the LMS where teachers can organize online classes.  

Online learning Vs offline learning:-  

The major difference between online and offline education is location. While preparing for offline learning, the student is required to travel to a location like a college and a lecture hall. With the online learning classes, training and education sessions can be conducted from anywhere in the globe with internet access. Participants need to log on to the internet from any place and can attend the lecture.  

Online learning provides you with a flexible time scale which is not available in offline learning. As an educator one can offer support using email and an online chat system. While in the case of offline learning it is typically carried out only during office hours and doesn't offer flexibility to the learner and to the trainer. Apart from these two differences, the advantage of learning online and offline is the same.  

Benefits of online vs offline learning?

Nowadays online learning has been preferred more by the majority of learners. But, one can not dismiss the benefits of offline learning too. Using the online mode of education either for coaching and training educator and learner both benefit from a casual and flexible approach. Being unrestricted in regard to location and time means every learner can benefit from the courses. With offline learning, it becomes easier to ensure that students are paying attention to the lecture. While some prefer offline learning as they found it easier to retain knowledge and skills.
